Biobanking
The biobank bridges science and medicine by collecting biological samples from volunteers and then processing, testing, storing and redistributing them to researchers.
Personalised Medicine
The biobank’s research programmes are focused around a new approach to medicine that is personalised according to the individual’s need.
Cancer
IBBL is involved in a number of cancer research projects, in close collaboration with all major biomedical research and healthcare actors in Luxembourg.
Parkinson’s Disease
IBBL cooperates with all major biomedical research and healthcare actors in Luxembourg to advance research on Parkinson’s disease and neurodegenerative disorders.
Diabetes
IBBL supports Luxembourg researchers on a broad range of projects on diabetes, aiming to improve the early diagnosis and treatment of this metabolic disorder.
General Population
IBBL is involved in a number of research projects on general population studies, in close collaboration with all major biomedical research and healthcare actors in Luxembourg.
Microbiome
IBBL works in close collaboration with all major biomedical research and healthcare actors in Luxembourg to improve knowledge on the relationship between the microbiome and a variety of diseases, such as diabetes and Parkinson’s.
Biospecimen research
IBBL carries out biospecimen research in order to optimise sample collection, storage and processing, ultimately guaranteeing high quality biological samples that are fit to be used for research purposes.
